I attended a small private school through the 8th grade. After much debate, my parents finally decided send me to a public school. Getting my high school education at Oak Grove High School was one of the best expereinces growing up!
Then I went to Louisiana Tech University and got my degree in Secondary English Education.
Hello there! My name is Jaclyn West. This is my fourth consecutive year at Woodlawn Jr. High. I stay busy teaching three ELA blocks, helping out with FCS, putting together the yearbook, and coaching the cheerleading squad.
I am a grammar junky, but I also love reading and writing. My favorite part about teaching ELA is watching the students develop as writers. They grow so much in this area during the 7th grade. Some of my favorite novels are The Hobbit, Written in Bone, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
